How to enable User-Wide DND

In this article

What is user DND?

User Do No Disturb (referred to as uDND) mode, is a user wide setting that will allow all calls to the user to be automatically declined. It is useful when the user is driving, in a meeting, or is otherwise occupied, to ensure that they don’t get distrurbed by the calls, and the caller will not be waiting longer than necessary. This guide covers how to enable and disable uDND mode.

Note: User uDND will affect all calls to the user (including diversions), not just the phone that enabled it

How to enable uDND on Webphone:

To enable uDND on the webphone, simply press the button in the webphone:

Once it changes colour to red, uDND is disabled. To disable it, press the button again

How to enable uDND button on the Yealink:

To enable uDND you need to create a BLF key

For that, go to DSS Key -> Line Key settings. On your desired line key, select:

  • Type: BLF
  • Value: *(your extension)
  • Label: Your choice, for this example we called DND
  • Line: The line of the user it’s set up for. If you have only a single account on your Yealink phone, it’s generally Line 1.

Finally click confirm.

On your Yealink when you press the DND button, you will hear an announcement “Do not disturb mode was enabled” and the button will turn red.

If you press it again, you will hear an announcement that “Do not disturb mode was disabled” and the light will turn green again

Note: uDND BLF key can not be used to call the user. A separate line key needs to created

How to enable uDND manually/other SIP devices:

To enable uDND manually, dial *(your extension). You will hear an announcement that “Do not disturb mode was enabled”. When you dial it again, you will hear that “Do not disturb mode is turned off”.

You can also set up this number as an extension on other SIP devices not covered in this guide. Turning uDND mode on/off on one device, will affect all other devices under the user
