The SetCallerID object will allow you to change the caller ID from the inbound call to a number of your choice configured on your account.
For example, if you have a 1300 or 1800 number being diverted to your mobile number and want to know if the call are arriving from your toll number or direct to your mobile, then you can use a SetCallerID object to change the number of the inbound call.
To start this process, login to your customer portal, then order an inbound DID number of your choice. Click on the order service tab and then option 2 on the left hand side, phone numbers.
Choose country, then click on the area box , select a local DID number and drag across to the selected numbers window.
Now repeat the process, selecting a 1300 or 1800 toll number of you choice and drag the number across to the selected numbers window. Submit the order and you are ready to start configuring your number along with the SetCallerID object in PBX.
Open you PBX call flow that is located at the top of your customer portal, then we need to create an inbound number object to start. Drag & drop an inbound number object from the PBX tool menu to the main PBX call flow screen.
Locate the SetCallerID object from the PBX toolbox, located on the left hand side, drag & drop this object to the right hand side of the inbound number object.
Now locate the Call Diversion or the Ring Group object.
Any of these can be configured to divert calls to a single or multiple external mobile or landline numbers. In this example we will use the Call Diversion object.
Click on the settings tab of the inbound number object.
Select your 1300 / 1800 number you have previously ordered, then click the arrow to include the number into the inbound number object.
Enter a descriptive name for the object and hit the save button to finalise. "You need to configure this component" message should disappear. Likewise, the highlighted colour should change to green, this will confirm the inbound number object has successfully be configured.
Now open the settings of the SetCallerID object.
Enter a descriptive name, next press the numbers drop down and select a caller ID. We will select the locate number that we ordered previously. Please note that you are not able to set a 1300 or a 1800 number as a caller ID due to carrier restrictions, if you do the caller ID will appear as anonymous.
Now click the save button. The SetCallerID object will be highlighted in green, demonstrating that the object is fully configured.
The last object to configure is the Call diversion object.
Add an external number(s) by pressing the add button and enter in your mobile or landline number. Press the save button to complete changes to this object.
Now we need to connect all the object together, connection links should be used to join the objects that have been placed in the call flow area.
Pull and drag from one connector to another so the two objects are connected.
Lastly, save the number used in the SetCallerID object as your office or work in your mobile or external number phone book. This will now allow you to filter calls, and distinguish direct calls over calls being diverted from your toll number.
Finally don't forget to Apply the Configuration when any changes are made to the SetCallerID or associated objects.
